Great game

Short but sweet! Fun, challenging, great gameplay.

simply too difficult 

After the first dozen or so levels (few hours of game play)  I finally reached a level I cant beat, I play for 100+ turns but its no use, its 3 against 1. Theres a handicap mode after you lose but a few extra troops doesnt help much when youre fighting three enemies Unfortunately theres not much strategy to this game, its either you have enough troops to win or you dont. If youre placed in an area where there are few bases or theyre very far apart while the computer has bases everywhere youre always going to lose. I only paid $2 for this and I dont even recommend it at that price until they allow players to adjust the difficulty settings

Excellent Strategy Game!

Found myself skipping through most of the corny JRPG story, but otherwise a surprisingly deep and addictive game. Not sure why there are a lot of negative reviews about the game being too hard. Its not. Some stages do require some strategic thinking and planning but old PC strategy gamers will feel right at home. Cant recommend enough! Sequel please? :)

Stop complaining

Ok how can you can complain about the difficulty! This is one of square enixs easier games! Ive beaten this game several times over! Ive unlocked every level in free mode and beaten all of them! How can you complain its ridiculous! Unless you have no strategic sense in you there is no reason to complain! This is my favorite game ever! Please buy it!

Incredible

Easily my favorite game for the iPhone/iPod Touch, and my go-to app for when Im bored. Just like the description says; very simple controls, but highly strategic and fast-paced. Easily worth the six bucks.

Really good

This is one of the best iPhone games!

Awesome strategy game

Ive played through this game a couple of times and gone through all the bonus maps at least once, and I think this game is awesome! Its definitely one of the better strategy games Ive played, and anyone with a little strategy will be able to beat it without too much difficulty. Very addicting, very fun, and really hoping for a sequel :)

One of the best!

Thank you square enix for this great game. The mechanics are simple but the strategy makes you work for it. I havent been able to put this one down--- please release more bonus maps!!

Perfect

This game is perfect. The only con is a short story/ mission mode

Amazing!

Really loved the game and its hard for me to like games on here as a lot are bad. A must have and has replability.

Fun easy to learn. Extra maps cost $

+5 Stars Fun Engaging Play. Interesting strategic maps with resource variesty that can tip the scales for or against you. -1 Star Easy on almost any difficulty. -3 Stars Extra maps cost $0.99 each (2 maps per pack). Square isnt THAT hard up for cash. Group them up in the 4s or 6s and it might be worth it. But at its current cost + extra maps makes it a pricey app. +1 Star Great replayability. Sure you might know the map, but change the players and up the difficulty and lower the intro items and it can get somewhat dicey. Also picking your starting point in a non-strategic advantage will actually make the game difficult but not impossible. Fun for all ages, in my Opinion.

Fun

It was a really fun game. The storyline is really short with only ten mission but its still a great game

Great game but updates are a rip-off!

This really is a great and addictive game. Only problem is the fact that the updates are implied to be free but then you have to purchase new maps once in the game. For a game that was already overpriced this is pretty irritating! Until the deceptive marketing is addressed my review stays at 1 star!

Decent

Bought it during a halfoff week to celebrate a new square game. I would say its definitely fun, but its no angry birds or galcon. Considering the price, graphics, and that the "bonus" maps that increase replayability are 50 cents each, this game got its use, but doesnt stack up to the big boys. There are enough final fantasy fanboys that will pay the full asking price, but its because their account is linked to mommys credit card, or they arent very good at math.

Not bad

Its actually a pretty good game... Kinda short tho..

New Maps?

Good eye my friend! They are indeed different from the ingame "free mode" maps. I think that it is quite misleading. For the new maps, Hopefully they give us a better deal than just two for $.50 each which is quite expensive for me. Overall this is a great game

Good stuff!

Its a little expensive but well worth it once u get into it. I hope for some more of the same in the future.

Risk meets gauntlet

Not sure if thats exactly how Id put this game but it is pretty close to it. Hope most know what gauntlet was for the NES.

Fun and addicting light strategy

This is a surprisingly fun take on the real-time strategy genre. Despite its simplicity (there is only one type of troop, and you boost all troops at once by capturing special bases or using artifacts), it can be really challenging and require a lot of really quick strategic decisions. The campaign is short, but there are several unlockable scenarios and more for purchase, making it worthwhile at its admittedly high price point.

So Addictive!

This is a great strategy game! You can set it to anything you may want, from very easy to very difficult(In free mode)! And the storyline is great! And you just have to love the extra 99 cent stages. It continues the storyline and gives you much more gameplay!
